Last Will and Testament in Texas - $50.00

How is Texas Legal Shop Wills better than a computer program or lawyer?

Most computer programs that produce a will are good in every state. Our wills may be good in other states, but take advantage of unique Texas laws that other states do not have. Most computer programs are valid in Texas, but do not take advantage of Texas’ unique laws.

Texas Legal Shop only uses Texas lawyers to write wills. So, we have the same quality as a lawyer in his expensive office, but with no office costs, we can charge much less.

What we need to know

In a Texas will, you need to know who your immediate family members are(spouse and children), who you wish to give your property to and alternates, and who you wish to act as your independent executor and an alternate.

Does Texas require I give property to certain family members?

Unlike many states that require certain percentages of your property to be willed to wives and children, in Texas, you may will your property to whomever you wish.

Texas Legal Shop will write: (alternates names) and their children.

What is an Independent Executor and what does he do?

Unlike most states, a Texas executor may be Independent of the probate court, this reduces costs considerably to your estate. Further, executors may serve with or without a bond. Serving without a bond saves your estate and/or executor money. However, a bond is used where the executor may not perform the duties under the terms of the Will properly, this insures people who were to get things from your Will, at least get some money from the bond.

Texas Legal shop writes wills using independent executors and without bond.

An Executor first pays any debts of yours, taxes owed then gives property to whomever you wished in the Will.

Who Can be my Independent Executor?

Anyone with no convictions of theft, over 18 years of age and not an alcoholic or drug user.

Who should be my Independent Executor?

Generally, spouses, Trusted children, other Trusted family members or close friends.
